SWA is committed to developing and operating a sustainable, cost-effective, and high quality water supply for the Chicago Southland region. Since May 2020, the Agency has executed 50-year ‘take or pay’ water supply contracts whereby 14 communities will receive water from SWA upon system implementation, and negotiations are ongoing with numerous other communities.
